This is one of the greatest things that I have ever seen. 360º video except for that little blind spot. I ‘did’ this video about five times just to make sure I was able to see everything. You can even pause it and keep panning around in the freeze frame, WHAAAA!

Could you imagine a web cam like this? you’d have to wear a damn pyramid thing with the cameras pointing in at your dome. It would be so distracting to be able to rotate around somebody’s head while you’re talking to them that you’d never be able to pay attention to what they’re talking about.

Or put it over a baby so people can see your dumb kid in 360º as if an ugly baby photo wasn’t enough. ebay with what you’re selling, cram your junk inside if you’re on chat roulette, sculptures, cats, a sandwich. Essentially any noun you’d be able to transmit an it’s-like-I’m-actually-there experience.

Angora Napkin

You may remember a boss post that I did about a year ago on Nick Cross and in that post I mention his pilot for Angora Napkin. Well it’s finally online for the entire world to see and love!

This had me crackin’ up, and I hardly ever lol alone. It looks like everyone that watches it desperately wants it to get picked up and continue to fill our hearts with warm hugs and gentle affection and why shouldn’t they? This is one of the best cartoons I have seen in a long time along with Adventure Time and Flapjack.

The timing, characters, crude humor, and wildly refreshing gesticulations brings a wind of promise that there will always be amazing cartoons to be found even as I get older. and HELLO! It features Cub.

I truly anticipate the greatest gift my unborn child will bestow upon me will be the service as an additional pair of peepers scanning the world for great cartoons…. until he gets older and only wants to hang out with his stupid girlfriend ….bitch

Café Allongé

Easily one of the best animations in the entire world. The story of a kid chillin’ in a café until some dime glides in and he thinks of all the ways he should go about approaching her. Something that I’m sure we can all relate to. If I made an animation of every time I went through this I would have several amazing animations daily.

The mix of 3d and the manga style animation is smooth as ice in this bit and ought to remind us all why animation is awesome in the first place.

Café Allongé was brought to life by Kawanimation and Agence de Création Sonore. the Agence de Création Sonore site is totally whevs but definitely  check out the Kawanimation site for their other work. It’s totally french and totally flash, but still worth a look!

ps. Did this video remind anyone else of ‘A Kid’s Story‘ ?

ipad Light Painting

I am super pumped on the thought of an ipad after seeing this. Ipads seem to be getting cooler and cooler the more they’re used for ways they weren’t intended.

Dentsu London and BERG teamed up to make one of the best things in the world. It’s so clever and at the same time it’s like ‘why didn’t I think of that?’

The video starts out with a brief behind-the-scenes and goes on to show the eye numbingly amazing results. I’m glad that they didn’t just experiment with stationary words and went on the play with animations of various shapes and movements as well as exploring different environments! This is defiantly something that you need to see if you’re alive. Alternatively if you’re dead you don’t have to see it, but I still recommend it.

For some reason Dentsu London built their site in flash but if you’re cool, you’ll wanna see what BERG is up to
