Yeah, crazy. Now let’s move on to the fact that they are children. Some with sleds through them. Some holding scissors. Some dressed like soldiers with holes through them. Sick? Yeah, probably.
I think I am most intrigued by the splintering roughness of about half of the sculpture contrasting the other half which is as smooth as porcelain. The faces and the hands seem to be the smoothest; the glossy eyes staring, dead. The hands reaching out with more expression than some of the faces. I pity these children and at the same time have an odd urge to hide them away…
