I learned a new word last week, pareidolia, and normally when I come across a word that I can’t pronounce and ends in “olia” I figure that it just belongs to the doctors and scientists of our great planet. But this word has a meaning that has fascinated me since I was a little boy.
The psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant. Basically its what convinces you there’s animals in the clouds, it’s also the culprit of sending you secret messages through your toast! With that said I wanted to share some of Damien Tran’s work, a designer and screen printer from Berlin.
Its great to see collage work translate to screen printing so well, he pulls some great 4 and 5 color prints and has some crazy 25 color zine collaborations going on. There’s definitely something to be said for work that can evolve with your perspective over time.
This post was writen by Aaron Bloom! He’s a graphic designer, studio mate, and one of our new contributers. You may recall him from our post about our new studio with him and also from our post of Dec Wallpapers. Do yourself a favor and peep all his awesome work
